Speedlink V28/2011, Google, FaceBook, SEO, Blogging and Hey Ya

Hi everyone. So what’s new? Well, Google announced this week that they are soon to release their new service called “Page Speed Service“, a service meant to speed up you site. With free CDN services, such as CloudFlare and Incapsula, I am not so sure why Google said that this service will not be free. Something to think about.

Another noteworthy subject is the release of “FaceBook For Business“. An online guide that runs through every single aspect of how to use FaceBook’s marketing tools for your business (finally). If you are not familiar with how all things move around FB, ths is somethinf that might interest you.

On a side note, not everything is just about G+, FB, etc. This week I saw an awesome video on Gini Dietrich‘s site about two kids dancing (Hey Ya), and a great initiative called commit65. If you want to see some serious moves, you have to check it out, and then come back here :). Let me know what you think. I am sure that you will see that these kids has some serious potential, lol.

As usual, in no particular order.

Will changing the code and layout of my pages while moving to new URLs affect their rankings?

That’s it! Enjoy and have a great week ahead.

    • Hi Hajra. You are welcome … Glad to see you also enjoyed the video of those kids. They are so awesome 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and sorry for the late response

    • I freaking love that video. It makes me laugh every time I see it!

  • Hey Francisco, love the list. I am so glad you featured Hajra’s post here, she is taking the blogosphere fast… I am just glad I met her before she became a star, hope she won’t forget me one day 🙂

I love the blog ideas Danny posts on his blog and the other one he runs, for bloggers by bloggers.

    • Hi Brankica. Sorry for the delay in responding.. no excuses 🙂

As for Hajra, I don’t think she will forget about you.. You are kinda unforgettable really, lol.. Good to see you around. All the best

    • And thank YOU for the Hey Ya video because you found it first!

      • They are awesome 🙂

  • Thanks for the link love brother!
    How’s things?
I have not touched my dingdong for ages now 🙁

..it’s not what you think people!!!

    • Hi Alex. I’m good, thanks for asking and so sorry for responding a tad late..

On a side note, what did I tell you about touching your dingdong? If you want to be on top of things, you know what you should you do, lol.. OK, people reading this may be imagining things, haha.

Anyway to answer your questions, I was playing around with the dingdong last week.. not much though. I’m done 🙂

      • LOL – you’re a crack up man.

        I love it!

  • I was reading about Google’s page speed service. The information and details are a little sparse yet. It did mention a fee to be announced, but competitive or something like that. Google’s network would likely be impressive and capable of handling a lot. The thing I didn’t see mentioned was any additional security like Cloudflare or Incapsula provides. We’ll just have to wait and see what becomes of Google page speed service.

    • I’ve just tried out the Google Page Speed service and it is really by far better than Clouldflare. Yeah there are not additional security options like you said but I don’t care because it is not a job of a CDN network. The loading time of my site is decreased for over 50% now and I am very satisfied with its performance.

    • Hi Ray. See Tuan’s reply. He got lucky with an early participation and appears to be very satisfied with the service. Anyway, I am also eager to give it a test drive.. Hopefully soon 🙂

  • Seems like I have missed quite some posts this week. Got so much pending on my reader! Thanks for easing things up Fran. Great list as always.

    • Hi Jane.. yo missed some post and I have been lagging in a bunch of things, like responding to comments 🙂 Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the list 🙂

  • I love, love, love that video!! Thanks so much for sending people to the blog, but you totally could have embedded the video here. I did, after all, embed a video I found through you. 🙂

    • Hi Gini. Yeah, that video was just so cool, I could not help but share it “nearly” all over the place. As for embedding the video here, well.. I also wanted people to see commit65, plus you had some good stuff on the list, so it did not make much sense, putting all in here 🙂 Plus I think it is sometimes better this way 😉

  • DiTesco,

Your Speedlinking posts are some of my favorite. Especially on weeks when I have been to busy to get much web reading done. When I have a few minutes I can just stop here and get into some good stuff.

This week I liked the posts from Smart Passive Income and Blind 5 Year Old the best.

    Thanks

    • Hi Sheila. Its so nice to hear that my roundups is one of your favorites. So sorry I am responding a tad late.. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend
