The internet is great and I love it. I think that with a very few exceptions, this is most likely a sentiment that everyone has in mind. Social media, apps, smartphones and other devices that has an internet access has truly changed our day to day lifestyle and with this, has made some of us careless about the things we share and put out there.
Today, it is so easy to find information about an individual that in some cases it is scary. As more companies and individuals use the internet as an important source of positive information about you, so too does the possibility of having compromising information reaching the wrong people and using these against you.
If you are really concerned about your privacy and want to keep information about you confidential, the only safe and guaranteed solution is to live under the rock, meaning, remove or refrain yourself from the digital world. The problem is that this is really not a good solution is it? Well obviously not, but it is up to you to decide where you want to appear, how you want to appear and what information about you are you willing to share.
So, while it might seem impossible to keep your private life private and your Internet presence to a minimum in a 24/7 connected world, the truth is you can disappear online with a bit of effort or at the least minimizing the information you share online. First and foremost, try to keep a low profile and not put stuff out there that can be used to negatively impact your reputation now or in the future.
